— Min Yoongi
Pre – Debut
Yoongi was introduced to rap at an early age and he became active in the underground rap scene in Deagu where he was a part of the underground rap crew called D-Town. Yoongi originally joined Big Hit thinking he would be a producer and according to various interviews he has said the the CEO Bang Si-Hyuk had told him that he would not have to dance. Big Hit was a company on the brink of bankruptcy and in order to make ends meet Yoongi took on a part time job delivering food on a motorbike. In one of the Burn the stage episodes Yoongi tells the other members that he had told them he had injured his shoulder falling down the stairs when in reality he had been hit by a car and dragged (this incident is referenced in the song Amygdala). He stayed quiet for fear of being kicked out of the company.
Yoongi has been active on social media since predebut on both twitter and youtube with his first log being on 130110 SUGA 의 Maschine mk2 review.
